Today, I wanted to do something simple. Since it’s getting colder here, I just wanted to wear powder foundation and that’s it. My favorite no makeup makeup look to do with powder is the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin powder in the shade 95 Coconut.
It looks like I’m wearing no makeup other than a little blush. The Maybelline Superstay Better Skin powder foundation looks and feels silky soft. It literally melts into my skin. It can easily be built up, but I did not want to do that, because then it would look cakey. I seriously love this foundation.
Thanks for stopping by!
This past weekend was the Sephora VIB sale. I only ordered 4 things because I really didn’t need/want anything.
I ordered 2 Buxom lippies since they were half off, Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm, and Sunday Riley UFO Ultra Clarifying Face Oil.
I needed the Sunday Riley oil because it seems to be the only face oil that works with breakouts. I’m only putting this on my chin, since I’m only breaking out in that area. I also picked up the Buxom Lip Cream in Peach Daiquiri (left) and the Lip Polish in Sugar (right) which is described as a pink truffle. And lastly, I got the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm. When I got the travel set, I really fell in love with the balm and mask, but I decided to get the balm because I can easily just get this, throw it in my bag and go!
So this is it. Not a lot, but I don’t go crazy when it’s the sale. I only get things that I personally need.
Thanks for stopping by!
Since last month I was on a no buy from Sephora, I decided yesterday to peruse the makeup aisle in Walmart. What I picked up was the Maybelline City Mini palette x Shayla and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in blackest black. I honestly didn’t know if I really wanted the palette when it fist came out until I was finally able to see it in person yesterday. This is my first Maybelline palette and I must say, I really love it! As soon as I got home, I had to play with both items.
I personally don’t use colors like this, but once I applied them I was really loving them.
The only thing that bugs me about this look is how I did my bottom liner. I haven’t done it like this since high school, and I’m old lol. The mascara is really nice as well. I feel as though it curled my lashes a little. I think that I wanna go and get another palette before it’s completely gone and her mascara because this collection was limited edition. The palette is so compact, you can take it anywhere. I can’t wait to do more looks with this palette!!
Now that October has come and gone, I can really get excited for the holidays! I feel as though once Halloween creeps up, then you know that the holidays are fast approaching. With all that being said, here are my October favorites.
Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Toner: I switched back to using this because of my breakouts on my chin area. This has helped calm the breakouts. I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped using this. I love the smell and it keeps my skin hydrated.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water: I do like this product and it is a favorite of mine, but since I’ve tried 3 more micellar waters before this, I’d have to say that this is just a plain ol’ water. I will use it up.
MAC Studio Moisture Cream: I love this moisturizer. I had used the travel sized version and when MAC was having a sale, I decided to get the bigger one. I like to use this at night, I feel it is too heavy for day time wear.
Fresh Hydrating Eye Gel Cream: This eye gel cream is by far the best eye cream I’ve ever used! This is super hydrating and moisturizing under the eye. I’ve never used a gel eye cream before. I can honestly say that this and the Origins eye doctor are now my holy grails.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation: This will always be my favorite foundation. This was my first ever “high end” foundation. It has great coverage and when I use this, I don’t have to use any concealer on my chin area because it covers the dark spots and breakouts well. I love this foundation.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Today, I wanted to attempt to use my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation. At first, I was only going to use my Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless powder since I’ve only used this once, technically, I’ve only used both of these items once. I got the MAC foundation last January and the Maybelline Fit Me powder last August!
First, the reason I NEVER use the MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation is because it smells like PAINT!!!! But not when it’s on your face though. It’s also a thick formula. When I first used it, I think I may have used too much, so it turned out cakey This time, I used my beauty blender. It also has an SPF of 15 in it.
Secondly, I have no real reason why I stopped using the Maybelline Fit Me powder other than I was using the MAC Studio Fix powder and the Makeup Forever Duo Mat powder.
I have nothing else on my face. I just wanted to see how these two would work together.
I did use concealer under my eyes. I set my whole face with the Maybelline powder. I think it turned out good. I did spray my MAC Fix+ after which I should not have done because it felt like I had just poured water all over my face. I thought it had ruined the look, but it held up.
Now I gotta buy a pump for this foundation, I mean it’s only taken me a year!
Today, I woke up and really wanted to do a makeup look. I grabbed my AHB Modern Renaissance palette and started to do a nice warm toned look.
Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizer Primer
Foundation: Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Foundation
Eyeshadows: ABH Modern Renaissance palette
Eyebrows: MAC Cosmetics eyebrow pencil in Spiked
Mascara: Urban Decay Perversion
Bronzer: BECCA Sunlit bronzer
Highlight: BECCA Opal
Lip Liner: NYX Cosmetics Nutmeg
Lipstick: Gerard Cosmetics Coca Bean
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter
Did I also mention that I did not set my foundation with powder either? I actually forgot too. I was so excited to get to my bronzer, I completely forgot. But I do have to say that this foundation is full coverage and also matte. I did not get oily in my t-zone at all today! I really enjoyed this look and when I do wear this foundation again, I may not set it! Fall is my all time favorite season and I cannot wait to see/do more looks!!
Lets see, where do I start….
So back in August I believe, I purchased the May Coop Raw Sauce and Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. After only using these two items for two weeks, along with my other skincare products, I had to stop using them. I don’t know what it was with these two items but they broke me out even worse than before on my chin. I know that the May Coop Raw Sauce has alcohol in it and the Nip + Fab serum has salicylic acid in it. I think with all of that combined, it maybe was too much for my skin. Maybe they’ll work better for someone else, but I couldn’t handle it.
In other news, I did put myself on a no buy for the month of October, from Sephora lol. Reason being is that in November, Sephora will be having their VIB sale, so I’ve decided to wait until then which sucks for me because I ran out of my Sunday Riley UFO Oil which helped clear my skin. Hopefully, I will be able to fend off any breakouts until then!
This month, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to showcase some of the hair products that I use. I’ve been using these items for well over two or three months now. I typically only wash my hair like two or three times a month, so I don’t go through products that fast.
First I use the Redken All Soft shampoo. I always wash my hair three times to make sure I get all the buildup out. This is what the stylist at Ulta used on me and at the time, Ulta was having their hair event so I picked this up for half the price. It does make my hair really soft and it smells great too.
Next, I use either the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque or the Pantene Gold Series repairing mask. I really do love both of these masks. I leave them in for maybe 30 minutes to an hour depending on how I feel. After using either one, my hair is clean and soft.
Next, I spray the Just for Me leave in detangler in my hair. This will sit for maybe 10 minutes before I start combing my hair. Using this has made detangling my hair a bit easier. Then I’ll use the OGX Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum. I’ll finger comb this threw my hair and on my ends along with the Pantene Gold Series Intense Hydrating Oil. After all of that is complete, depending on my mood, lol, I’ll use the Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste (gel). I’ll use this on my edges to slick them down. I don’t use this all the time, but it’s still a favorite of mine to use.
These are my favs for September. I wanted to switch it up since I always use the same makeup products and skincare, and I barely wear makeup anymore now that I’m working out 5 or 6 times a week!
Thanks for stopping by!
I’m usually on the Sephora app browsing to see what’s new on the daily, and on Sunday I saw that Bite Beauty had a limited edition holiday set. I’ve never tried anything from Bite Beauty before. I’ve always wanted to try the lip scrub, lip mask, and their new lip balm. I figured that this is a way to try before you buy seeing as this set is $20 compared to purchasing all three of these items individually.
I think that this tin is so cute!
Sephora’s site: A travel set with three products made from agave to exfoliate, treat, and hydrate lips.
This set contains:
– 0.18 oz / 5 g Agave Sugar Lip Scrub
– 0.18 oz / 5 g Agave Lip Mask
– 0.05 oz / 1.3 g Agave Balm
What else you need to know:
Bite Beauty is created with natural and organic ingredients for beauty that is better for you. These products don’t contain petrochemicals.
I really think that this whole set is a great way for you to try before you buy! It’s also travel friendly as well. I didn’t want to open any of the products because I wanted to wait until I’m ready to fully use them. I also think that I may want to purchase another, and maybe one for my sister.
Here’s a link to purchase the Bite Beauty Agave Kisses Set.
I also redeemed some points to get this Sephora bag:
So all in all, I am happy with this purchase and cannot wait to try the set out!!!
Is it fall yet? LOL. I’m so ready for fall. I think what I love most is watching the leaves change and of course, clothes. Today, I wanted to do like a purplely eye, but I kinda went a little darker. I was inspired by fall coming soon.
This eye look is something that I would never do! But I really love how it turned out! I’m still mixing my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream together and I’m liking the finish. I also used the Morphe 35R palette for my entire eye look and I used LipLand lip crayon in Viking.
