FOTD (12/23/17)

While I’m at my sister’s house for Christmas, I thought that I would dabble in some makeup. And the lighting was really good today.

Primer: Smashbox  Photo Finish Primer (Pore Minimizing)

Concealer: NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer (Caramel)

Foundation: Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation (N90)

Brows: MAC Spiked brow pencil

Mascara: Urban Decay (Perversion)

Liquid Liner: Maybelline Master Precise (Black)

Eye Liner: Rimmel (Black)

Blush: Hard Candy (Bombshell)

Lipstick: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick (Hawkwind)

I really love this look. I’m obsessed with powder foundations. Even though it is “winter” (I live in the south, it was a good 71° today), I still love wearing powder foundations!

FOTD (12/19/17)

Today, I wanted to try out my sample of Becca’s Ultimate Coverage Foundation I got over the weekend. I’m in the shade Amber. I didn’t use a lot of this foundation. I just dotted it over my face and blended it out with my beauty blender. I really liked the coverage that this gave. I also set it with my Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation.

I really do like this foundation. I want to wear it more to see if I want to purchase it. Recently our JC Penny finally decided to put a Sephora in their store, so I will be checking that out Thursday. I’m going to get matched for NARS’s Sheer Glow Foundation. That is another foundation that I’ve been wanting to try as well.

FOTD (12/18/17)

Happy Monday everyone! It seems like forever since I’ve done a face of the day post. This weekend I went to Sephora and I had a list of what I wanted to purchase and what I wanted samples of. I purchased the Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation (N90) and I also purchased a Beauty Blender (black). The samples that I got were Cover FX Anti-Aging Primer, Becca Ultimate Coverage Foundation, and Korres Wild Rose Exfoliating Cleanser. Well seeing as this was my first time every getting samples, I didn’t know that the little tube/jar would be so small, but I was able to use the primer all over my face so that’s a plus.

Primer: Cover FX Anti-Aging Primer

Foundation: Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation

Concealer: NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer (Caramel)

Eyebrows: MAC Spiked

Eye Liner: Maybelline Master Precise

Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational

Blush: MAC Sweet as Cocoa

Lipstick: NARS Audacious Lipstick (Deborah)

All in all, I’m really happy with this look. I’m all about powder foundations, but I can’t wait to try out my Becca sample. It matched in the store, but the lights were really bright, so now I get to see what it looks like in natural lighting.

November Favs (2017)

This month, I got back into playing with makeup products. But I only want to showcase what I’ve been using consistently.

Maybelline x Shayla City Mini Palette & Maybelline Lash Sensation Mascara

Revlon Lip gloss (Rosy Future), Buxom Lip Polish (Sugar), Rimmel eye liner (black), L’Oréal Brow Stylist (Dark Brunette), and e.l.f. eye lash curler.

Skincare: Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate, Bite Beauty Lip Balm and Lip Mask, Origins Modern Friction Face Scrub.

I’ve also been loving Castor Oil. Since I’ve cut my hair and became natural, my hair has been getting dryer. So I’ve been doing some research and castor oil seems to help with dryness and helps to grow hair too. I’ve used it on my brows and eye lashes, but never my hair. I just put some in my hands, rub them together and massage it through my hair, paying close attention to my scalp. My hair just eats this up; it gives my hair moisture that it lacks!

So that is it, my November favs. Until next time…

FOTD (11/20/17)

Today, I wanted to do something simple. Since it’s getting colder here, I just wanted to wear powder foundation and that’s it. My favorite no makeup makeup look to do with powder is the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin powder in the shade 95 Coconut.

It looks like I’m wearing no makeup other than a little blush. The Maybelline Superstay Better Skin powder foundation looks and feels silky soft. It literally melts into my skin. It can easily be built up, but I did not want to do that, because then it would look cakey. I seriously love this foundation.

Sephora VIB Sale: What I Ordered

This past weekend was the Sephora VIB sale. I only ordered 4 things because I really didn’t need/want anything.

I ordered 2 Buxom lippies since they were half off, Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm, and Sunday Riley UFO Ultra Clarifying Face Oil.

I needed the Sunday Riley oil because it seems to be the only face oil that works with breakouts. I’m only putting this on my chin, since I’m only breaking out in that area. I also picked up the Buxom Lip Cream in Peach Daiquiri (left) and the Lip Polish in Sugar (right) which is described as a pink truffle. And lastly, I got the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm. When I got the travel set, I really fell in love with the balm and mask, but I decided to get the balm because I can easily just get this, throw it in my bag and go!

So this is it. Not a lot, but I don’t go crazy when it’s the sale. I only get things that I personally need.

Playing in Makeup pt.2

Since last month I was on a no buy from Sephora, I decided yesterday to peruse the makeup aisle in Walmart. What I picked up was the Maybelline City Mini palette x Shayla and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in blackest black. I honestly didn’t know if I really wanted the palette when it fist came out until I was finally able to see it in person yesterday. This is my first Maybelline palette and I must say, I really love it! As soon as I got home, I had to play with both items.

20171104_122309I personally don’t use colors like this, but once I applied them I was really loving them.

20171104_12202320171104_122043The only thing that bugs me about this look is how I did my bottom liner. I haven’t done it like this since high school, and I’m old lol. The mascara is really nice as well. I feel as though it curled my lashes a little. I think that I wanna go and get another palette before it’s completely gone and her mascara because this collection was limited edition. The palette is so compact, you can take it anywhere. I can’t wait to do more looks with this palette!!

October Favorites (2017)

Now that October has come and gone, I can really get excited for the holidays! I feel as though once Halloween creeps up, then you know that the holidays are fast approaching. With all that being said, here are my October favorites.

Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Toner: I switched back to using this because of my breakouts on my chin area. This has helped calm the breakouts. I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped using this. I love the smell and it keeps my skin hydrated.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water: I do like this product and it is a favorite of mine, but since I’ve tried 3 more micellar waters before this, I’d have to say that this is just a plain ol’ water. I will use it up.

MAC Studio Moisture Cream: I love this moisturizer. I had used the travel sized version and when MAC was having a sale, I decided to get the bigger one. I like to use this at night, I feel it is too heavy for day time wear.

Fresh Hydrating Eye Gel Cream: This eye gel cream is by far the best eye cream I’ve ever used! This is super hydrating and moisturizing under the eye. I’ve never used a gel eye cream before. I can honestly say that this and the Origins eye doctor are now my holy grails.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation: This will always be my favorite foundation. This was my first ever “high end” foundation. It has great coverage and when I use this, I don’t have to use any concealer on my chin area because it covers the dark spots and breakouts well. I love this foundation.

Feeling Fallish🍁

Today, I woke up and really wanted to do a makeup look. I grabbed my AHB Modern Renaissance palette and started to do a nice warm toned look.

Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizer Primer

Foundation: Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Foundation

Eyeshadows: ABH Modern Renaissance palette

Eyebrows: MAC Cosmetics eyebrow pencil in Spiked

Mascara: Urban Decay Perversion

Bronzer: BECCA Sunlit bronzer

Highlight: BECCA Opal

Lip Liner: NYX Cosmetics Nutmeg

Lipstick: Gerard Cosmetics Coca Bean

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter

Did I also mention that I did not set my foundation with powder either? I actually forgot too. I was so excited to get to my bronzer, I completely forgot. But I do have to say that this foundation is full coverage and also matte. I did not get oily in my t-zone at all today! I really enjoyed this look and when I do wear this foundation again, I may not set it! Fall is my all time favorite season and I cannot wait to see/do more looks!!

Product Update

Lets see, where do I start….

So back in August I believe, I purchased the May Coop Raw Sauce and Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. After only using these two items for two weeks, along with my other skincare products, I had to stop using them. I don’t know what it was with these two items but they broke me out even worse than before on my chin. I know that the May Coop Raw Sauce has alcohol in it and the Nip + Fab serum has salicylic acid in it. I think with all of that combined, it maybe was too much for my skin. Maybe they’ll work better for someone else, but I couldn’t handle it.

In other news, I did put myself on a no buy for the month of October, from Sephora lol. Reason being is that in November, Sephora will be having their VIB sale, so I’ve decided to wait until then which sucks for me because I ran out of my Sunday Riley UFO Oil which helped clear my skin. Hopefully, I will be able to fend off any breakouts until then!
