FOTD (7/30/17)

Today was pretty much a chill day for me. This past weekend, I purchased the Maybelline Dream BB Cream in Medium/Deep. I’ve used this before and decided to go back to it.

I used Raw Sienna and Burnt Orange all over the lid and under my eye. I also used Realgar in the center mixed with Burnt Orange and Raw Sienna under my eye.

Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

BB Cream: Maybelline Dream BB Cream (Med./Deep)

Foundation: MAC Studio Fix Plus Powder (NC43)

Eyeshadow: ABH Modern Renaissance Palette

Brows: MAC Spiked brow pencil

Eyeliner: L’Oréal Infallible Super Slim liquid eyeliner

Mascara: L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara (gold tube)

Blush: Hard Candy (Bombshell)

Lip Liner: MAC (Cork)

Lipstick: Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color (Touchable Taupe)

This lip look is by far my favorite look! I can literally use Cork lip liner with anything and it makes the lips look great!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale started about 2 weeks ago and the only thing that I wanted to purchase was from Sigma Beauty. They had 2 brush bundles and I decided to pick up the Innovation Duo. In this bundle, you get the Spa Express Brush Cleansing Mat, 3DHD Kabuki Foundation Brush and a bonus sample of their SigMagic Brush shampoo.

I really love how the brush came packaged. The brush is really soft. Since it is cut the way that it is, I can apply my foundation and turn it over and blend out my concealer. Using the mat was really easy as well. Having this has really cut my cleansing process down. I felt like my brushes got cleaner faster. I haven’t used the sample brush cleaner yet. All in all, this was a great purchase and much needed as well.

L’Oréal Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care (Moisturizer)

At the beginning of July, I decided to purchase the L’Oréal Hydra Genius moisturizer for Normal/Oily Skin since I finished my Clinique one. I purchased mine from Walmart because it is a little cheaper.

72HR Intense and Continuous Hydration
Lightweight Liquid Care Formula
Mattified, Fresh, Healthy-Looking Skin

Ingredients: Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, Isononyl Isononanoate, Silanetriol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Dimethiconol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Hyaluronate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Hyaluronic Acid, Phyllostachys Bambusoides Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Tetrasodium Edta, Citric Acid, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Xanthan Gum, Panthenol, Menthoxypropanediol, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Tocopherol, Potassium Sorbate, Sorbic Acid, Methylparaben, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Ci 42090/Blue 1, Linalool, Limonene, Parfum/Fragrance, F.I.L. #B192827/1

First thing, I really wanted to like this product but I honestly couldn’t take it anymore! As soon as I put this moisturizer on my face, immediately the fragrance hit me. Even though it’s WAAAAAY down on the list, it’s very potent. My sinuses started to act up and I was sneezing and coughing.

Secondly, this stuff broke me out something awful. Now I don’t have sensitive skin but my cheek and chin have been breaking out and I just knew then that I had to stop using this.

On the plus side, this is a very hydrating gel formula and I did feel that my t-zone was mattified for a few hours. It worked well with my makeup too. I usually don’t dislike many products but that fragrance and the fact that I broke out like crazy made me stop using this and now it’s in a drawer for anther day!!

Mini Haul 🛍️

While I was on vacation, I decided to go to the mall and of course, I had to go to the MAC counter in Macy’s and Sephora in JC Penny.

Sometime last month, I contacted MAC and asked if Cork lip liner would be back in stock, and they told me it was discontinued. So when I saw it at the MAC counter, I had to purchase it. I also picked up another brow pencil in Spiked.

Sephora (JC Penny)

I went to Sephora looking for Tatcha, but they didn’t carry it. Luckily I was able to get this. I’ve been using the travel sized version of this and I really am enjoying it. It keeps my combination skin hydrated and hasn’t broken me out like another product that I will mention in another post! Caudalie is becoming one of my favorite brands.

Bath & Body Works

I never have hand sanitizer on me, so when I asked my cousin where she got hers, she said Bath & Body Works. When I went in the store, they were having a buy 6 for $5 so I picked up the 6. One is in my bag and I gave another one to my sister. I also picked up a hand cream in Vanilla Buttercream for $4. I think I’m going to go back and get another hand cream, because they feel so buttery and keeps my hands soft.

All in all, I always enjoy going out of town and shopping. I always manage to hit up the MAC counter and Sephora because even though I may not always find what I’m looking for, I usually always find what I’m looking for lol.

Hair Style

Last week, I made a hair appointment to Ulta. I’ve never been there before to get my hair done, so I was nervous lol. I usually have my one main person to do my hair, but they are closed on Monday’s. I’m going out of town this weekend so I wanted to get something that would last. I wanted braids BUT I decided to get a blowout instead, case in point why I went to Ulta.

When I got there, the lady who was doing my hair was very professional and polite. She was really nice. She offered me coffee or water which was new to me because that’s never happened to me before at any salon lol. She really looked at my hair and catered to my needs. Since I’m going natural, she understood because she also was natural for some time. I haven’t had a relaxer since last October/November (7-8 months) so I had ALOT of new growth at the top of my head.

Like I stated, my stylist was very professional and gentle, it was probably one of the best shampoo and conditioning treatments I’ve ever had.

My hair is actually longer than I thought. I guess since it’s stretched out, I have some length now. She also told me that I could come back once a month or just contact her when I need too. She’s the only person who does blowouts there. I can honestly say that I will be going back, I want to add highlights. She also recommended the products that she used on me and since Ulta is having a sale on all there hair products, I will be going back to purchase them.

I would have to say that today was a success!!!! 😊

June Favorites

To me, June was really all about lippies! If I wasn’t wearing a full face, I was definitely wearing some type of lipstick or gloss.

Left to Right: BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzer (Ipanema Sun), Buxom Full-On Lip Cream (Hot Toddy), Buxom Full-On Lip Polish (Sophia), NYX Cosmetics lip liner (Nutmeg), Maybelline lipstick (Touchable Taupe), MAC Cosmetics PatentPolish lip pencil (My Flip Side).

My favorite perfume this month that I’ve been reaching for would have to be Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Heavenly Angel Mist. I’ve had this for a few years now, I don’t think the mist is available, but the perfume is. I love the way it smells. Notes: White musk, sandalwood, vanilla and white peony.

SETTING SPRAY: Urban Decay All Nighter

I haven’t used regular foundation in a while, I usually just use powder since it’s been really hot out. But I’m really liking this look that I created. Really simple. And as you can see, I really dislike the L’Oréal brow pencil. I think it’s too dark and it also feels really waxy when I’m applying it. I’d rather just use my MAC brow pencil in Spiked!

Thanks for stopping by 💞.
