Playing in Makeup

Today, I wanted to attempt to use my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation. At first, I was only going to use my Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless powder since I’ve only used this once, technically, I’ve only used both of these items once. I got the MAC foundation last January and the Maybelline Fit Me powder last August!

First, the reason I NEVER use the MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation is because it smells like PAINT!!!! But not when it’s on your face though. It’s also a thick formula. When I first used it, I think I may have used too much, so it turned out cakey This time, I used my beauty blender. It also has an SPF of 15 in it.

Secondly, I have no real reason why I stopped using the Maybelline Fit Me powder other than I was using the MAC Studio Fix powder and the Makeup Forever Duo Mat powder.

I have nothing else on my face. I just wanted to see how these two would work together.

I did use concealer under my eyes. I set my whole face with the Maybelline powder. I think it turned out good. I did spray my MAC Fix+ after which I should not have done because it felt like I had just poured water all over my face. I thought it had ruined the look, but it held up.

Now I gotta buy a pump for this foundation, I mean it’s only taken me a year!

Feeling Fallish🍁

Today, I woke up and really wanted to do a makeup look. I grabbed my AHB Modern Renaissance palette and started to do a nice warm toned look.

Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizer Primer

Foundation: Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Foundation

Eyeshadows: ABH Modern Renaissance palette

Eyebrows: MAC Cosmetics eyebrow pencil in Spiked

Mascara: Urban Decay Perversion

Bronzer: BECCA Sunlit bronzer

Highlight: BECCA Opal

Lip Liner: NYX Cosmetics Nutmeg

Lipstick: Gerard Cosmetics Coca Bean

Setting Spray:Β Urban Decay All Nighter

Did I also mention that I did not set my foundation with powder either? I actually forgot too. I was so excited to get to my bronzer, I completely forgot. But I do have to say that this foundation is full coverage and also matte. I did not get oily in my t-zone at all today! I really enjoyed this look and when I do wear this foundation again, I may not set it! Fall is my all time favorite season and I cannot wait to see/do more looks!!

Product Update

Lets see, where do I start….

So back in August I believe, I purchased the May Coop Raw Sauce and Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. After only using these two items for two weeks, along with my other skincare products, I had to stop using them. I don’t know what it was with these two items but they broke me out even worse than before on my chin. I know that the May Coop Raw Sauce has alcohol in it and the Nip + Fab serum has salicylic acid in it. I think with all of that combined, it maybe was too much for my skin. Maybe they’ll work better for someone else, but I couldn’t handle it.

In other news, I did put myself on a no buy for the month of October, from Sephora lol. Reason being is that in November, Sephora will be having their VIB sale, so I’ve decided to wait until then which sucks for me because I ran out of my Sunday Riley UFO Oil which helped clear my skin. Hopefully, I will be able to fend off any breakouts until then!

September Favs -Hair Edition (2017)

This month, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to showcase some of the hair products that I use. I’ve been using these items for well over two or three months now. I typically only wash my hair like two or three times a month, so I don’t go through products that fast.

First I use the Redken All Soft shampoo. I always wash my hair three times to make sure I get all the buildup out. This is what the stylist at Ulta used on me and at the time, Ulta was having their hair event so I picked this up for half the price. It does make my hair really soft and it smells great too.

Next, I use either the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque or the Pantene Gold Series repairing mask. I really do love both of these masks. I leave them in for maybe 30 minutes to an hour depending on how I feel. After using either one, my hair is clean and soft.

Next, I spray the Just for Me leave in detangler in my hair. This will sit for maybe 10 minutes before I start combing my hair. Using this has made detangling my hair a bit easier. Then I’ll use the OGX Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum. I’ll finger comb this threw my hair and on my ends along with the Pantene Gold Series Intense Hydrating Oil. After all of that is complete, depending on my mood, lol, I’ll use the Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste (gel). I’ll use this on my edges to slick them down. I don’t use this all the time, but it’s still a favorite of mine to use.

These are my favs for September. I wanted to switch it up since I always use the same makeup products and skincare, and I barely wear makeup anymore now that I’m working out 5 or 6 times a week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bite Beauty Agave Kisses Set

I’m usually on the Sephora app browsing to see what’s new on the daily, and on Sunday I saw that Bite Beauty had a limited edition holiday set. I’ve never tried anything from Bite Beauty before. I’ve always wanted to try the lip scrub, lip mask, and their new lip balm. I figured that this is a way to try before you buy seeing as this set is $20 compared to purchasing all three of these items individually.

I think that this tin is so cute!

Sephora’s site: A travel set with three products made from agave to exfoliate, treat, and hydrate lips.

This set contains:
– 0.18 oz / 5 g Agave Sugar Lip Scrub
– 0.18 oz / 5 g Agave Lip Mask
– 0.05 oz / 1.3 g Agave Balm

What else you need to know:
Bite Beauty is created with natural and organic ingredients for beauty that is better for you. These products don’t contain petrochemicals.

I really think that this whole set is a great way for you to try before you buy! It’s also travel friendly as well. I didn’t want to open any of the products because I wanted to wait until I’m ready to fully use them. I also think that I may want to purchase another, and maybe one for my sister.

Here’s a link to purchase the Bite Beauty Agave Kisses Set.

I also redeemed some points to get this Sephora bag:

So all in all, I am happy with this purchase and cannot wait to try the set out!!!

FOTD (9/14/17)

Is it fall yet? LOL. I’m so ready for fall. I think what I love most is watching the leaves change and of course, clothes. Today, I wanted to do like a purplely eye, but I kinda went a little darker. I was inspired by fall coming soon.

This eye look is something that I would never do! But I really love how it turned out! I’m still mixing my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream together and I’m liking the finish. I also used the Morphe 35R palette for my entire eye look and I used LipLand lip crayon in Viking.

New Skincare Items

Last week, I picked up two new skincare items that I’ve been wanting to try. From Sephora I got May Coop Raw Sauce and from Ulta I picked up Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum. Since I’ve been breaking out on my chin lately, I wanted to get something that would kind of target the issue.

Sephora: May Coop Raw Sauce

From Sephora’s website:Β A hydrating, nourishing essence featuring a silky formula that’s highly concentrated in maple tree sap to create a stronger skin environment, helping prep the skin to better absorb products to follow and boosting their effectiveness.

So basically I use this after cleansing and toning. I press it into my skin and let it absorb. I use two drops and that seems to do the trick, anything more, I find it to be too much. I got the smaller size. It does have a scent to it that I like; its not strong at all. I do use this morning and at night.

Ulta: Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum

From Ulta’s website:Β Glycolic Fix Serum is a highly effective overnight serum with powerful Glycolic Acid to improve skin texture + smooth the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles. PoreAway visibly reduces the appearance of pores for a more refined + even looking complexion.
+ 4% glycolic acid smoothes the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles
+ PoreAway minimises the appearance of enlarged pores
+ aloe vera soothes
+ calms

I use this only at night. After I cleanse, tone, and use the Raw Sauce essence, then I apply this. This has a thick, clear texture, and quickly absorbs into my skin. It does have a scent as well but nothing too strong.

After only using these two products (along with my cleanser, toner, mask, and moisturizer), I can say that I do believe that they are helping with the breakouts on my chin area. The Raw Sauce is helping the other products absorb into my skin better, while the Glycolic Fix Serum is helping exfoliate the area while calming it as well. When I do breakout, the area will always turn red, the serum has helped with that.

So my thoughts on these would be that I would repurchase them again. I also will be purchasing the Nip + Fab No Needle Fix serum so that I can use it during the day!

Thanks for stopping by.

August Favorites (2017)

This month, I wasn’t wearing that much makeup, but when I was, it was very light.

Maybelline BB Cream

Cover Girl BB Cream

Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick (Hawkwind)

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

MAC Cork Lip Liner

I mixed my Maybelline and Cover Girl BB Creams to give me a perfect finish. The Maybelline BB Cream was a little light because of the SPF, but once I mixed it with the Cover Girl, it looked better, plus it was matte.

I also have been having some issues with my skin lately. I’ve been breaking out and I’ve also been in the sun lately. The beach has been my friend of late lol.

Garnier SkinActive Cleanser

Caudalie Miceller Water

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream

Using all these products have really helped sooth my face, especially my t-zone area. I’ve been breaking out on my chin, so using the Kiehl’s masque has helped stop some of the breakouts.

Favorite Show:Β The Defenders. I really enjoyed this show. I watched Jessica Jones last year when it was released. I’ve never seen Luke Cage, Dare Devil or Iron Fist, so I was a little lost lol. But I got the jest of their powers.

Favorite Book: Mistress by James Patterson. This was a really great book with a lot of twists and turns.

So there you have it, my favorites of the month! Hopefully September will be filled with some new items.

What I Picked Up From Ulta

Ulta sent out their 20% off coupon sometime last week. Now with this, you could use it on your entire purchase, prestige items and fragrance included. So I decided to pick up a few things.

Leaders Brightening Recovery Mask

SNP Animal Dragon Soothing Mask Sheet

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Garnier Face Wipes

I love the leaders masks, so I wanted to try another. I already have been using the Urban Decay Perversion mascara sample size, so I wanted to use the coupon on this because it is on the higher end side. I’ve never used the SNP masks before, but they are only $5. I needed more face wipes, so I decided to give these a whirl.

When Ulta sends out the 20% coupon, I rarely get anything big lol. I have enough perfumes and some of the prestige items don’t really impress me that much. If they decide to send out another one in November like last year, then I’ll probably get a higher end primer or foundation or the Naked Heat palette. But other than that, I’m happy with the items that I did purchase. And until next time…..πŸ’‹

EOTD (8/18/17) 🍁

Today, I wanted to play with some shadows and lashes. I was going to use my Huda Beauty ones, but I decided to use individuals from House of Lashes.

I used MAC Saddle and Morphe Deep Cocoa in the crease. I also used Morphe Burlesque on the lid.

Natural lighting

Here I’m wearing Maybelline’s Touchable Taupe lipstick.

This look makes me so ready for fall, I honestly can’t wait!
