FOTD (2/13/18)

This past weekend, I went to Walmart to pick up some things. One of the items I was on the hunt for was the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation. I picked up the shade Caramel. I tried it on when I got home to see if it was a match and it looked like it would be. Today I wore it for a full 8 hours and liked the way it turned out.

I was able to build up the foundation a little. I didn’t want to put a whole lot on. I was able to cover up a dark spot on my cheek, but not so much on the chin area. But I still like this foundation and will continue to wear it!

Yesterday’s FOTD (2/1/18)

Happy February! I completely forgot to post yesterday, and once I did remember, I was already in bed dozing off. I’m still testing out the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth foundation.

I decided to take a picture with flash to make sure there wasn’t any flashback.

So far, I’m still liking this foundation. The testing will continue….

FOTD (1/30/18)

Sunday I picked up a new foundation, well new to my line up. I got the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth foundation. I got the shade Toffee. I know that this foundation has been around for some time now, but it’s hard for me to find my shade in just about any drug store foundation. Well I was with my sister in Walmart and we were at the Maybelline display which had pictures of what the shades looked like on actual people. I’m not one who likes to mix shades because that means more money. So my sister helped me out and I went with Toffee. Since I’m Toffee in the Fit Me Matte & Poreless powder, I went with that.

By the way, please excuse these brows! I wanted to use a pomade, but since I’m growing them out, the pomade made my eyebrows look very thick! I think I’ll stick with a brow pencil until I get them done.

I really like how this look turned out. I think the shade matches really well too. Maybelline is truly one of my favorite makeup brands. I have another foundation from Maybelline that I want to pick up as well that I think will look good too!

January Favorites (2018)

Today, I would like to share my January Favorites. There wasn’t much that I was loving this month.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter: I’ve been using this for my dark spots on my face. I can tell that some of the smaller marks are fading a little, but the bigger ones will take time.

Sunday Riley Juno Oil: I got this at the end of December. I use this as added moisture on my face. It sinks in quickly, so it doesn’t feel like anything is sitting on the face. It’s not oily either.

Vaseline lotion: I use this for my hands. My hands get so dry and the skin on my finger tips were peeling. Then I started using this and it’s helped! This feels like a glove. My hands are moisturized all day and night.

COVER FX Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation (N90)

MAC Spice Lipglass

MAC Touch Lipstick

I’ve literally been wearing the lip gloss and lipstick everyday. When I do wear makeup, I’m wearing the powder foundation.

There you have it, my January favs. All in all, January was a cold, snowy month for me and I cannot wait until the summer!! lol.

FOTD (1/26/18)

Today I wanted to do a simple look just using my powder, but once I concealed and powdered, my face was so red that I had to wipe it off and start over! I basically used the wrong brush to apply my powder foundation, so once I figured that out, I decided to just go ahead and put on foundation as well.

I kinda still don’t like the way it turned out lol. I think it may be the lighting or something.

I’m still using my NARS Sheer Glow foundation sample that I got. Eventually I’ll make the leap to purchasing the full bottle. I feel like I’m just having bad luck all around when it comes to foundation as of late. But I digress…. Thanks for stopping by!

Facetory Subscription

Last week, I placed an order on this website called Facetory. It’s a face mask subscription box. I’ve really been getting into face masks or masks in general. I decided to give this a try. Lets be honest, I watch YouTuber CoffeeBreakwithDani, and when she unboxes hers, it looks really enticing. She gets the bigger box with has 7 masks, but I decided to subscribe to the box that comes with 4 every month. For $5, you can’t really beat that! The subscription that I got and will receive is the FOUR-ever FRESH Kit. Comes with 4 sheet masks, but once you sign up, they send you a code to receive and extra mask, so I got 5.

I like how it came in this type of packaging. I would rather have this than a box to be honest. I think it’s really cute and just makes you want to mask and relax.

Left to Right

N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask EX. (free)

Dewy Tree Tea Tree Blemish Treatment Mask

Holika Holika Pure Essence Mask Sheet Lemon

Purenskin Hyaluronic Acid Soothing Mask

Mimiang Spring Flower Honey Mask

These are all Korean sheet masks and the instructions are all the same. Place mask on the face, leave it on for 10-20 minutes, then let the remainder essence sink into the skin by patting it in.

I’m pretty happy about this subscription. I can’t wait to see what the upcoming months have to offer.

Mini Haul- Skincare Edition

This is my first haul of the New Year. I decided to pick of some new skincare to try out. I was on Sephora’s website and saw that Fresh had all these different kits for reasonable prices, so I picked up the Facial in the Fly kit.

I really got this kit for the Rose Face Mask.  I’ve never tried it before and I heard that it is soothing on skin when there’s irritation. I have tried the face cream years ago, but I don’t remember if it was moisturizing or not. All I remember is that it smelled of cucumbers. I want to purchase the full size because it is recommended for all skin types, so this gives me the chance to try it out again. The cleanser, I’ve never tried before as well. I’m pretty sure it’s good, because the reviews are glowing on Sephora’s website. The set contains:

– 0.6 oz. 20 mL Soy Face Cleanser
– 0.5 oz. 15 mL Rose Face Mask
– 0.5 oz. 15 mL Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex

I also was browsing Caudalie’s website. I’ve been wanting to try the Moisturizing Mask, but I don’t want to pay the hefty price just yet. So on the website, they are offering a Mask Trio Holiday Set. You get the Instant Detox Mask, Glycolic Peel Mask, and the Moisturizing Mask.

You get 15mL/0.5 fl. oz. of each product. I just used the Instant Detox Mask in my t-zone and I really enjoyed it. It’s a pink thick texture, but once you spread the product out, it thins out a little. It also dries pink. It has a fragrance, but nothing too over powering. I feel as though this mask really opened my pores up and pulled everything out. My skin felt smooth afterwards.

I’m really happy with these purchases and cannot wait to add some of the full sized items to my routine.

FOTD (1/16/18)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I know we’re 16 days into the New Year, but this is my first post of the New Year. I honestly cannot believe that it’s 2018. And I do hope to achieve more of my goals this year.

I used my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and set it with the COVER FX Mineral Pressed Foundation. I decided to break out my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette today and did a simple, basic eye look. I had fun creating today. I’ve been in a funk lately because of the dark marks and spots on my chin area. This foundation covered them up perfectly! I think I’m gonna take the plunge and just buy it lol.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Favs (2017)

This month went by so fast and now there’s literally 2 more days left until 2018! But until then, here’s what I was loving this month.

Bath and Bodyworks Aromatherapy Body Lotion- I love this scent. I have it on my night stand as a hand lotion.

Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil- I got this oil so that I could start back double cleansing at night. Whether I wear makeup or not, I feel that this helps get all the dirt out since I do work out too. The smell is nice as well.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser- I got this at the beginning of December and I love it. It’s for all skin types and doesn’t make my skin dry out. It’s soft and foams up really nice. Smells great too.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer SPF 30- I got this back in July for when I was going out of town. It’s a nice day moisturizer since it has SPF in it. It does have that SPF smell but I don’t notice it after a while. I’m thinking about purchasing this again or switching to the Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream SPF 30 one.

Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector & Optimizer- I got this for the dark mark on my chin and it has helped. I use this first, the my Sunday Riley UFO oil and these two together have been helping fade the dark marks.

EOS lip balm- I got the flavor Vanilla Bean. This is my first time trying anything EOS. I really like this lip balm and it’s lasted me for well over a month. It’s kept my lips moisturized during the day which helps since it’s been in the 20’s here.

Lastly, my Michael Todd Beauty Soniclear Petite Antimicrobial Sonic Skin Clearing Brush in English Garden. I’ve been wanting this for over a year now! I finally went in Ulta on black Friday and got it. This had to be the fastest I’ve ever went in Ulta to get something lol. They literally had one left and I got it. I really love it! Although it doesn’t spin, I still love and really needed an upgrade in my skincare when it came to cleansing.

All in all, December was kind to me and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings!!!!

Yesterdays FOTD (12/28/17)

I completely forgot to post my recent look last night. It was on my mind, but I fell asleep pretty early. Last week, I went into Sephora to get me a sample of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation. I was matched with the shade Tahoe.

I set it with my COVER FX Pressed Mineral Foundation (N90). I think that this foundation blended out really well and it matches me nice. It looks really light when looking at it through the bottle, but once she blended it in on my cheek I was like yep, that’s the one!

I also decided to put on some eyeshadow. I used MAC Saddle in the crease, Morphe Deep Cocoa in the crease and Morphe Burlesque on the lid. I also put Deep Cocoa and Burlesque under my eyes as well.

I had fun with this look. I’m usually just doing mascara and eyeliner. Now I gotta make a decision on whether to purchase the NARS foundation or the BECCA one.

Thanks for stopping by!
